GRAHAMSVILLE, NY - The popular Old Time Fair & Chicken BBQ sponsored by the Time and the Valleys Museum will be held rain or shine on Saturday, July 26, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Grahamsville Fairgrounds on state Route 55.
Activities will include:
• Corn shucking and skillet throwing contests
• Children’s old fashioned games
• Hand-cranked ice cream making demonstration and tasting
• Entertaining pie auction with emcee Barry Lewis
• Great food and music
• Fly tying and casting demonstrations
• Local history exhibits
• Spinning, quilting and blacksmithing demonstrations
Parking and admission are free, with a nominal fee for some games and food.
From 1 to 5 p.m. visitors can enjoy Miller’s Chicken Barbecue accompanied by baked beans, macaroni salad, corn on the cob and dessert.
Dinners are available to eat in or take out, and are $10 for adults and $7 for children under 8.
This is a fund raiser for the museum to support educational programming.
The Time and the Valleys Museum is an interactive resource that preserves the past, educates the present and ensures the uniqueness of the Rondout and Neversink watersheds for all generations.
The museum is at 332 Main Street in Grahamsville and is open to the public from Thursday through Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.
The museum has three floors of exhibitions, a local history research center (open Thursdays and Sundays 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.) and museum shop.
