  • Pike County District Attorney Raymond J. Tonkin announced the following criminal sentences were issued by Pike County President Judge Joseph F. Kameen:
     
    Matthew John Pierro, age 31, of Archbald, PA., was sentenced to 9 months to 18 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $425.00 and had his driver’s license suspended for 2 years for the crime of Possession of a Controlled Substance and the traffic offenses of Driving While Operating Privilege Suspended and Operating a Vehicle Without Official Certificate of Inspection. On February 11, 2014, a Pennsylvania State Trooper observed a suspicious acting individual at a gas station in Dingman Township. Upon further investigation by the Trooper, Pierro and another individual were found in possession of Ketamine, a controlled substance.
    Josue Crespo-Ayala, age 25, of Port Jervis, NY., who was found guilty after a jury trial in Pike County on May 14, 2014, was sentenced to 1 month to 12 months in the Pike County Jail for the crimes of Simple Assault, Harassment and Criminal Mischief. On May 5, 2013, at a residence in Dingman Township, Crespo-Ayala got into an argument with his girlfriend over a cell phone call. Crespo-Ayala pushed the girlfriend to the ground and began choking her and struck her approximately 5 times in the face with his fist, breaking some of her facial bones. Crespo-Ayala had to be pulled off of the girlfriend. He stated he would kill her if she told anyone and he began breaking items in the house. The girlfriend had to seek medical attention for her injuries.   
    Jesse W. Stauss, age 30, of Port Jervis, NY., was sentenced to 63 days to 12 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $300.00 for the crime of Possession with Intent to Use Drug Paraphernalia. On September 13, 2011, at a retail store in Westfall Township, Stauss was found in possession of a family member’s prescription medicine which he had just picked up from the drug store without permission.
    David Paul Gambler, age 42, of Greentown, PA., was sentenced to 4 months to 5 years in the Pike County Jail to run concurrent to his Monroe County sentence, was fined $1,500.00 and had his driver’s license suspended for 18 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence. On November 1, 2013, Gambler was involved in a one-vehicle crash in Palmyra Township. A blood test revealed that Gambler had been operating his vehicle with a blood alcohol level of .166%.
    Patrick Paul Porter, age 54, of Greentown, PA was sentenced to 30 months to 7 years in a state correctional facility and fined $400.00 for the crime of Burglary. On August 13, 2013 and August 30, 2013 in Palmyra Township, Porter broke into residences and stole jewelry.
    Page 2 of 2 - Douglas W. Jackson, age 53, of Bushkill, PA., was sentenced to 1 month to 1 year in the Pike County Jail, followed by 2 years of probation and had his driver’s license suspended for 1 year for the crime of Delivery of a Controlled or Counterfeit Substance. Twice on April 3, 2012, in Lehman Township, Jackson delivered to an undercover officer 1 ounce of marihuana in exchange for $150.00. Again on August 30, 2012, he delivered 2 ounces to an undercover agent for $300.00.
    Faith Gearhart, age 31, of Trevorton, PA., was sentenced to 30 months to 5 years in a state correctional facility, was fined $2,500.00 and had her driver’s license suspended for 1 year for the crime of Attempting to Commit Acquisition of a Controlled Substance by Fraud. On January 18, 2013, at a pharmacy in Milford, Gearhart attempted to get a prescription filled for 49 oxycodone pills with a forged prescription.
    Thomas Hengerle, age 51, of Hawley, PA., was sentenced to 5 months to 18 months in the Pike County Jail, followed by 2 years of probation and was fined $300.00 for the crime of Theft of Services. Between January 29, 2013 and July 5, 2013, Hengerle stayed at a motel in Palmyra Township racking up a bill for $7,659.69 which he did not pay for.
