The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Honesdale have begun collecting toys for the upcoming holiday season.

New and gently used toys will be accepted. PSP will even take gently used children's clothing.

Items can be brought to the PSP Honesdale Barracks at any time. Toys are stored at the barracks until they are distributed by the Wayne County Children's Christmas Bureau during the holidays.

PSP also collects toys to have them available in the event of a disaster or emergency.

All donations not used for such incidents will then be dedicated to the Wayne County Children’s Christmas Bureau for distribution at Christmas.

“I appreciate the generosity of our community,” said Carleen Faatz, a member of the Wayne County Children's Christmas Bureau. “We are very lucky to live in a place where people are kind, selfless, caring and giving.”

She added sign ups for this year's Wayne County Children’s Christmas Bureau will be in late October.

The Bureau operates solely on donations, and depends upon the generosity of the Wayne County community.

Every child helped is from Wayne County, so 100 percent of your donations stay in Wayne County.

Questions about donations can be directed to Tpr. Kelly Todd at 570 253-7126.
