HONESDALE - Borough police said they are investigating a car crash in which a pedestrian was struck in a crosswalk at Church and 10th streets.
Police Chief Rick Southerton said Friday the female victim was treated and released from a hospital.
Borough police said Cynthia Stibick, 46, of Honesdale, was crossing over Church Street in the crosswalk when she was struck by a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier operated by Gregory Hite, 43, of Simpson.
Motorists are required to yield to pedestrians in legal crosswalks.
Police were dispatched to the scene at about 9:35 p.m. Wednesday, according to investigating Officer Keith Columbo.
It's unclear if charges will be filed as the investigation is continuing.
Southerton noted the street light was not operating in the area of the crosswalk and that is was very dark.
A news release says, "A determination of how this incident occurred is still under investigation by the Honesdale Borough Police with the assistance of the PA State Police accident reconstruction team."
