HONESDALE - The Honesdale Rotary club will offer cold beers, wine and popcorn during the 9th annual Honesdale Roots & Rhythm Music & Arts Festival on Saturday, June 21.

The Rotary’s “Beer Garden” fundraiser will be open from 1pm to 8pm in the Grace Episcopal Church courtyard on 9th Street, between Church and Court Streets.

“Everyone will be able to hear the great music of Roots & Rhythm while enjoying beer we’ll have for sale in a safe comfortable location,” said Ken Doolittle, president of Honesdale Rotary. “This is a fundraiser, so come on out and help us help our community.”

The Honesdale Rotary is a service club of close to 40 members dedicating to helping the communities in which they live and work.

Recently, the club donated batting pavilions to Honesdale Little Baseball, an AED to Honesdale Friends of Soccer and funding for the Honesdale Emergency Pantry and Friendship House.

Part of Rotary International, which counts more than a million members worldwide, Honesdale Rotary also participates in global projects, such as Polio Plus, a campaign to eradicate polio, and the Rotary’s International Student Exchange Program.

This is not the club’s first fundraiser during Roots & Rhythm.

“We used to have a very popular root beer stand,” said Beer Garden Committee Chairperson Richelle Stephens, “and we hope this Beer Garden will be just as well patronized. Special thanks to Grace Episcopal Church for letting us use their courtyard.”

Patrons must be 21 to enter the Beer Garden. Bring your I.D.
