- The death of a teenage pedestrian has been ruled homicide and authorities have identified a "person of interest" in the hit and run.

Zachary Possemato, 19, of Hancock, N.Y., was pronounced dead at 10:44 p.m. Friday by Wayne County Coroner Edward Howell, according to a news release.

Possemato suffered multiple traumatic injuries when he was struck by a pickup truck as he walked on Route 191 at Winterdale Road, on the edge of the roadway, near Hancock Bridge, officials said.

The incident happened at 8:34 p.m. and the driver fled in the extended cab pickup, state police said.

Police later identified the truck and a person of interested, whose name they did not release.

"No one is in custody at this time," Trooper Sharon Palmer reported.

The investigation is continuing and more details will be released upon further investigation, police said.
