  • Seven sent to prison for drug use

  • HONESDALE-Wayne County District Attorney Janine Edwards announced Friday the arrest of seven individuals who were involved in the sale of heroin.

  • HONESDALE-Wayne County District Attorney Janine Edwards announced Friday the arrest of seven individuals who were involved in the sale of heroin.
    Operation Spring Clean Up, facilitated by the Wayne County Drug Task Force (WCDTF) under Edwards' leadership, was a two month investigation into the “trafficking of heroin and cocaine in Wayne County.”
    The task force identified seven targets to take down in Wayne County who were selling heroin regularly and in large amounts to various individuals.
    Edwards said, "These identified drug dealers posed a threat to our community and swift and succinct action was required by the task force to take them off the street."
    The following individuals from around the county were arrested:
    • Angela Lewandowski of Lake Ariel: Two counts of felony Delivery of a Controlled Substance; two counts of felony 3rd degree Criminal Use of Communication Device; and two counts of misdemeanor Possession of Controlled Substance.
    Lewandowski delivered heroin on two occasions to a confidential informant and said heroin is believed to have been mixed with Fentanyl.
    • Kristofer Corey of Lake Ariel: One count of felony Delivery of Controlled Substance; one count of felony Criminal Use of Communication Device; two counts of misdemeanor Possession of Controlled Substance; and one count of misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
    Corey delivered heroin believed to have been mixed with Fentanyl to a confidential informant.
    • Candace Frisbie of Hawley: Two counts of felony Delivery of Controlled Substance; two counts of felony Criminal Use of Communication Device; and two counts of misdemeanor Possession of Controlled Substance.
    Frisbie sold cocaine on two occasions to a confidential informant.
    • Gavin Vanwyckhouse of Hawley: Two counts of felony Delivery of Controlled Substance; and two counts of misdemeanor Possession of Controlled Substance.
    Vanwyckhouse illegally sold a total of 66 bags of heroin on two occasions in controlled purchases.
    • Roseann Caridad of Waymart: Two counts of felony Delivery of Controlled Substance; two counts of felony Criminal Use of Communication Device; and two counts of misdemeanor Possession of Controlled Substance.
    Caridad sold heroin two times to a confidential informant.
    • Curtis Jaggars of Honesdale: Two counts of felony Delivery of Controlled Substance; two counts of felony Criminal Use of Communication Device; and two counts of misdemeanor Possession of Controlled Substance.
    Jaggars sold heroin to a confidential informant on two occasions.
    • Joseph Paul of Honesdale: One count of felony Delivery of Controlled Substance; one count of misdemeanor Possession of Controlled Substance; and one delivery of heroin.
    Paul sold heroin to a confidential informant on one occasion.
    Facing felonies
    Page 2 of 2 - Edwards said each of the individuals faces felony drug delivery charges. One count of felony drug delivery of heroin carries with it a maximum sentence of up to 15 years in prison and one count of drug delivery of cocaine can result in up to 10 years in prison.
    These individuals sold drugs in the Waymart, Hawley and Honesdale areas.
