HONESDALE- Thomas E. Sheridan, Jr., President and CEO of The Honesdale National Bank has announced the promotion of Kate Bryant to Controller and Jennifer Jaycox to Chief Operations Officer. Both are located in the HNB Corporate Center at 724 Main Street in Honesdale.

In making the announcement, Sheridan stated, “Both Kate and Jennifer have been valuable members of our HNB family, having displayed a keen understanding of how the financial and operations areas interact with and support the relationships we have with our customers, employees, shareholders, and the communities we serve.

“Each recognizes the important role our bank plays in the local economies and is committed to assisting us in building and enhancing those relationships, delivering the personal attention and Hometown service our bank is noted for.

“Their contributions to our organization, in addition to their education and experience make them extremely qualified to serve in these positions.”

In her new position as Controller, Bryant will be responsible for administrating the bank’s accounting systems and their operation.

She will produce periodic financial reports, maintain an adequate system of accounting records and a comprehensive set of controls, prepare budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that the financial accounting and reported results comply with regulatory policies and procedures.

Bryant joined HNB in March 2004 as an Accounting Administrator. She had gained six years of experience with investments, mutual funds, business administration and lending through her prior employment at a large brokerage and mutual fund company in the Philadelphia area and another financial institution located in Northeastern PA.

In July of 2005, she was promoted to Bank Secrecy Officer, assuming responsibility for all phases of HNB’s compliance with bank secrecy regulations including, customer identification and performing risk monitoring and analysis of the bank’s product lines and customer base.

She was promoted to Assistant Vice President in 2010 and Vice President in 2012.

Bryant is a graduate of Honesdale High School. She holds a Bachelors of Science in Finance, along with a Minor in Economics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Villanova University in 2002.

In June 2005, Bryant graduated with High Honors from the Pennsylvania Bankers Association’s (PBA) School of Banking held at Dickinson College in Carlisle.

She has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Wayne County Public Library since 2005, presently serving as Board Chairman.

Bryant served on the State Advisory Council for the PBA’s School of Banking and successfully completed the Leadership Wayne program in 2008-2009 sponsored by the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce.

Bryant resides in Honesdale with her husband, Zack and their two children, Caleb and Abraham.

As the Chief Operations Office, Jennifer Jaycox is specifically charged with management of the institution’s operations function, including Data Processing, Deposit, and Information Technology operations as well as fraud and security.

She will direct the delivery of HNB’s financial products and services throughout the bank’s ever-expanding channels.

Jaycox joined HNB in 2013 as a Vice President and Loan Operations Supervisor. She has over 19 years of experience in the financial services industry, principally in the loan and credit card departments.

She is a graduate of Wallenpaupack High School and attended Marywood University with a concentration in Spanish and International Business.

She has successfully completed the American Institute of Banking’s Consumer Lending program and has attended various banking related seminars and courses.

Jaycox enjoys spending time with her family and using her creative talents to craft distinctive displays.

She and her husband designed and created HNB’s spectacular Superman themed float in Honesdale’s 2013 Halloween parade.

Jaycox lives in southern Wayne County with her husband and daughter.
