  • I was lucky enough to attend two events Easter weekend that brought out the joy in everyone, no matter if they were a child or an adult.
On Good Friday I was at the Bethany Library, where they held their annual Easter egg hunt and on Saturday there was another one sponsored by the Lake Ariel Volunteer Fire Company.
Both of these organizations do a lot for the community and it was nice to see that each had great turnouts. All you could hear during the egg hunts were the sounds of laughter as children searched to find as many eggs as they could.
You could see the many smiles they had plastered on their faces and the smiles that came from their parents to see the fun they were having.
The main reason behind Easter is for Jesus’ rise from the dead to join his father in Heaven, but one of the traditions that has followed celebrating Easter is coloring eggs and finding them. I don’t care what age you are. That is still a fun thing to do.
You can tell that tradition hasn’t let up one bit over the years. I still see many adults get a lot of enjoyment out of coloring eggs, finding them and watching the little ones do the same.
I am grateful there are organizations like the Bethany Library and the Lake Ariel Volunteer Fire Company who provide opportunities like this to the community. It becomes a bonding experience and also lets people see some things these groups do.
There is more to a library than just finding a book, just like there is more to a fire department than just battling fires.
I hope the community continues to realize that and also continues to support organizations like these.
I thank these two groups for having these events and inviting me to be a part of them.
