  •  - Honesdale High School graduate Robyn Terrel has received the 2014 Zoetis national scholarship.
    Zoetis is the largest global animal health company, previously known as Pfizer Animal Health. It has supplied medication and research for animals for 60 years.
    The award was announced at an annual Student American Veterinary Medical Association symposium.
    Terrel, one of over 1,600 applicants, was recognized at a recent banquet at Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinarian Medicine in Blacksburg.
    Terrel graduated from Honesdale in 2008 and Penn State in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in animal medicine. She began studying at Virginia Maryland Regional in 2012 and is completing her second year as a veterinary student.
    Terrel is a member of the Wayne County 4-H program, for which she has won numerous awards.
    She also is in several other clubs and organizations.
    After graduating she plans to practice in the Honesdale area.
    Terrel is the daughter of Rob and Barb Terrel of Honesdale, and the granddaughter of Stuart and Lois Terrel of Waymart and the late Emerson and Betty Garing of Honesdale.
