  • WAYMART-As residents started their commute early Tuesday morning, they found that Farview Mountain was closed and were being detoured.
Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Honesdale first got the call around 6:15 a.m.
“There was a multi-vehicle accident,” said Trooper Robert Urban. “It involved two tractor trailers and two passenger vehicles.”
He said there was also a separate incident involving a single car roll over of a full size pickup truck.
“They were due to ice water runoff that froze,” Urban stated.
No injuries were reported in either incident and no one required medical attention. All of the vehicles were towed from the scene.
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and fire police were involved in redirecting traffic.
“A little before 7 a.m. we were informed by PSP Honesdale that State Route 6 was closed between Carbondale and Canaan,” said James May, community relations coordinator for PennDOT. “The road was opened back up at 9:20 a.m.”
Trooper Gregory Allen is leading the investigation.
