  • HARRISBURG-USDA Rural Development State Director Thomas Williams announced the selection of David Corwin to lead the agency's Housing Programs throughout the state.
The Housing Program Division provides homeownership opportunities to low- and moderate-income rural Americans through several loan, grant, and loan guarantee programs.
The programs also make funding available to individuals to finance vital improvements necessary to make their homes decent, safe, and sanitary. In fiscal year 2013, Rural Development's Housing Programs invested more than $792 million to rural communities throughout the Commonwealth.
David is a 1993 graduate of Lock Haven University with a Bachelor of Science in Management Science/Economics and Finance. He has worked as a loan officer, branch manager and trainer for a mortgage brokerage firm.
In 2008, he began his USDA career in Kalispell, Montana as a Rural Development area specialist, primarily in housing. In 2010, he became a senior area specialist in Community Programs in Vineland, New Jersey.
Originally from Binghamton, New York, David and his wife of 13 years, Nika have three children and currently reside in Mechanicsburg.
Through its Rural Development mission area, USDA administers and manages more than 40 housing, business and community infrastructure and facility programs through a network of approximately 85 employees located in 10 offices throughout Pennsylvania.
These programs are designed to improve the economic stability of rural communities, businesses, residents, farmers, and ranchers and improve the quality of life in rural America.
