  • Penn’s Northeast recently hired a new President and under his leadership, adopted a revised vision and mission. The organization will be focusing on unique lead generation centered on targeted industries and regional assets, which are economic drivers in the region’s economy. According to Ron Maloney, president, Penn’s Northeast, “Our region has experienced and continues to experience a measure of success in attracting new businesses. However, we can and will do so much more. Penn’s Northeast is leading the way when it comes to marketing the region and generating unique leads. A new vision of success now drives us.” The revisions provide clear direction for the organization’s future and are necessary to be successful in achieving the goals of its board of directors: Vision Statement: In three years Penn’s Northeast will be the region’s indispensable economic development marketing organization and most valuable business recruitment resource. This will be achieved by focusing on targeted unique lead generation, marketing activities and superior project management with a deal closing mindset, which will result in a half a billion dollars ($500,000,000) of investment in the region by June 30, 2017. Mission Statement: To enhance the region’s economy through new investment, job creation and increasing the amount of potential business opportunities for regional businesses through targeted business recruitment and unique lead generation activities. We do this in part by promoting the region’s assets to regional, national and international businesses. These assets include: - A desirable geographic location and workforce - Unparalleled Interstate highway and railway connectivity to east coast and pacific ports - Access to shale natural gas resources - Operational cost advantages over surrounding states, in conjunction with the enormity of their respective industrial and consumer markets. It is through superior project management with a deal closing mindset and seamless collaboration with partners, that success is achieved. Penn’s Northeast is a regional economic development marketing organization that serves Columbia, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe and Wayne counties.
