  • -The Wayne County Commissioners recently approved board appointments for 2014 for two different entities. The first was for the Agriculture Land Preservation Board. The following are the appointments: • Daniel Rutledge, contractor • William Rickard, public official • Francis Motichka, active farmer • William R. Bryant, active farmer • F. Michael Nebzydoski, active farmer • D. Ellis Dix, active farmer All of the positions are effective Jan. 1, 2014 to Dec. 31, 2016, with the exception of public official, which is effective until Dec. 31, 2015. The second group of board appointments was for the Lake Wallenpaupack Watershed Management District (LWWMD), part of the Wayne County Conservation District. The following are the appointments: • Justin Hoffman, at-large • Jim Shook, at-large • Thomas Mueller, marine trades representative • Mark Reidenbach, at-large • Kathleen Lester, PPL representative • Brian Schan, sewage treatment plant • Fred Schoenagle, at-large • Peter Snyder, Wayne Conservation District All of the appointments are effective Jan. 1, 2014 to Dec. 31, 2017 except Hoffman and Shook, who are both filling in expired positions. Hoffman's appointment is effective Nov. 20-Dec. 31, 2014 and Shook's appointment is effective Nov. 20-Dec. 31, 2015. Other business An award notice was approved from Medical Assistance Transportation (MATP) for fiscal year 2012-2013. The amount is for $805,269. • A lease agreement was approved for office space between Francis O'Neill and the county. The lease is regarding Magistrate District Judge Ronald Edwards' office, which is being moved to 1065 Creamton Drive to be a “more central space” due to the redistricting of the magisterial district courts. Edwards' office is being relocated from Lakewood to to the O'Neill Store in Pleasant Mount Township. Clinton Township will be re-assigned to his district as part of the redistricting process. The redistricting will be effective Jan. 1, 2014. The lease is for six years and goes into effect Jan. 13, 2014. • A bid was awarded to T. Brennan Heavy Equipment in Carbondale for Recycling Center repairs. The repairs are needed for structural damage on the corner of the building after a car hit the building. Some of the damage will be covered by insurance. The bid was for $31,000. • Liquid fuels encumbrances were approved for #40 Fortina Bridge in Texas Township. The bridge, located near Bear Swamp Road, is in need of parapet replacement and upgrades. The amount is for $103,718.
