  • HONESDALE- The following cases were addressed by the Raymond L. Hamill, President Judge, Wayne County:
    AUDAI HASSAN, age 19 of Lake Ariel was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 2 months nor more than 23 ½ months for one count of Criminal Attempt-Burglary, graded as a Felony of the 1st Degree.
    He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, pay restitution in the amount of $1,509.49, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, submit to the drawing of a DNA sample and pay $250 for the cost of the sample and obtain full time employment upon being released from prison.
    The incident occurred on April 17, 2013, in Salem and Lake Townships when Hassan attempted to break into a private residence.
    KARL A. STINE, age 27 of Clifton was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 48 hours nor more than 6 months for one count of DUI, an ungraded Misdemeanor.
    He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, pay a fine in the amount of $500, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, attend and complete an alcohol highway safety program, and perform 50 hours of community service.
    The incident occurred on March 23, 2013, in Lehigh Township when Pennsylvania State Police were called to investigate the report of a one vehicle crash. His BAC was .132%.
    JUSTIN PINDER, age 20 of Philadelphia was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 7 ½ months nor more than 23 ½ months for two counts of Endangering Welfare of Children: As Parent/Guardian, graded as Misdemeanors of the 1st Degree.
    He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, pay for victim counseling not to exceed $20,000, have no contact with the victims in this matter, have no unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18, undergo a sex offender evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, and obtain full time employment unless enrolled in college on a full time basis.
    The incident occurred between July 1, 2012, and July 27, 2012, in Preston Township when Pinder endangered the welfare of two female victims while employed as a counselor at Independent Lake Camp. The victims were campers during that time.
    MICHAEL KOZIMOR, age 49 of Honesdale was sentenced, in two separate cases, to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for period of not less than 32 days nor more than 12 months for one count of DUI-Highest Rate and one count of DUI, both ungraded Misdemeanors.
    He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, pay a fine in the amount of $1,500, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, attend and complete an alcohol highway safety program, perform 50 hours of community service and obtain full time employment upon being released from prison.
    Page 2 of 2 - The first incident occurred May 3, 2013, in Lebanon Township. His BAC was .25%. The second incident occurred on June 14, 2013, in Cherry Ridge Township. His BAC was .142%.
    FRANK MANGI, age 29 of Hawley was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 72 hours nor more than 6 months for one count of DUI or Controlled Substance, an ungraded Misdemeanor.
    He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, pay a fine in the amount of $1,000, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, attend and complete an alcohol highway safety program, perform 50 hours of community service and obtain full time employment upon being released from prison.
    The incident occurred on June 7, 2013, in Palmyra Township when Pennsylvania State Police were called to investigate a one vehicle crash. His BAC was .207%.
    JUDY A. EVANS, age 53 of Tobyhanna was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of 30 days followed by 60 months less 30 days on the Intermediate Punishment Program for one count of DUI-Highest Rate, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 1st Degree.
    She was also ordered to pay all Court costs, undergo house arrest with electronic monitoring for a period of 60 days, pay a fine in the amount of $1,500, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment and attend and complete an alcohol highway safety program.
    The incident occurred on July 6, 2013, in Lake Township when Pennsylvania State Police observed Evans cross the double yellow lines. Her BAC was .208%.
