  • MILFORD-Regional schools will use the backdrop of Grey Towers National Historic Site, Milford, to perform holiday musical favorites in December. Also, guided holiday tours of all three floors of the beautifully decorated mansion are scheduled from Monday, Dec. 9 through Saturday, Dec. 21 at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Students from the Delaware Valley School District will perform on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 3:30 p.m., and students from Dingman Delaware Middle School will perform on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 2 p.m. Both performances will be held outdoors in the Grey Towers Visitor Pavilion, located adjacent to the visitor parking area. The Pavilion offers a covered and protected area for the students and visitors as well as unique acoustics created by the circular and open air construction. Guided holiday tours of all three floors of the mansion are offered at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday Dec. 9 through Saturday Dec. 21. It is one of the few times when visitors can see the upper floors of the mansion. In addition to the guided tours, visitors can enjoy a Holiday Art Exhibit and Sale, plein air paintings by artists of Come Paint With Me and unique photographs by members of the Highlands Photography Guild, all creatively depicting Grey Towers and the landscape. The holiday art show is co-sponsored by the Grey Towers Heritage Association. The Grey Towers Interpretive Gift Shop is open from December 9-21 offering a 20 percent discount. The shop includes unique holiday gift items provided by Eastern National Forests Interpretive Association and the Grey Towers Heritage Association. The 1886 mansion, formerly the home of Gov. Gifford Pinchot, founder and first chief of the US Forest Service, will once again be decorated by members of the Milford Garden Club. Each floor is decorated with a different theme or era.
