  • - Pike County District Attorney Ray Tonkin announced the following criminal sentences were issued by Pike County President Judge Joseph F. Kameen: Erica Gigi, age 33, of Matamoras was sentenced to the Pike County Correctional Facility for 1 to 12 months, and ordered to pay a fine of $200 for the crime of Possession with Intent to Use Drug Paraphernalia. On July 3, 2013, in Matamoras Borough, Gigi was found in possession of 4 syringes, q-tips, and 3 metal spoons, used for the purpose of preparing and ingesting heroin and cocaine. Taylor Talmadge, age 20, of Port Jervis, NY was sentenced to the Pike County Correctional Facility for 3 to 11 ½ months, and ordered to pay a fine of $300 for the crime of Retail Theft. On November 6, 2012, in Westfall Township, Talmadge took two candles without paying the full retail value of $5.98. Michael Gasperini, age 32, of Port Jervis, NY was sentenced to the Pike County Correctional Facility for 18 months to 5 years, ordered to pay a fine of $3,500 and had his driver’s license suspended for 3 years for the crimes of Driving Under the Influence, Possession with Intent to Use Drug Paraphernalia, and Disorderly Conduct. On August 10, 2012, in Matamoras Borough, Gasperini was stopped at a DUI checkpoint and found in possession of two hypodermic needles, a spoon, cotton balls, and was found to be driving under the influence of marihuana and morphine. In a separate incident on September 19, 2013, in Westfall Township, was found to be driving under the influence and refused to submit to a chemical test. After Gasperini was placed under arrest he engaged in aggressive behavior towards the Eastern Pike Regional Police Department. Collin Purdue, age 20, of Highland Lakes, NJ was sentenced to the Pike County Correctional Facility for 48 hours to 6 months, ordered to pay a fine of $500 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence. On November 11, 2012, in Delaware Township, Purdue was found to be driving under the influence. His blood alcohol level was .131%. Jon Gambino, age 26, of Westtown, NY was sentenced to the Pike County Correctional Facility for 6 to 12 months followed by an additional 12 months of probation and ordered to pay a fine of $500 for the crime of Retail Theft. On February 13, 2013, in Westfall Township, Gambino took 3 Televisions without paying the full retail value. In a separate incident on February 16, 2013, Gambino attempted to take over $1,300 worth of merchandise without paying. James Powers, age 58, of Scranton was sentenced to a State Correctional Facility for 11 months to 3 years and ordered to pay a fine of $500 for the crime of Retail Theft. On November 4, 2012, in Westfall Township, Powers took various items without paying the full retail value of $159.92. Alicia Solomon, age 24, of Port Jervis, NY was sentenced to the Pike County Correctional Facility for 1 to 23 ½ months followed by an additional 6 months of probation for the crimes of Theft by Deception, Criminal Conspiracy and Possession With Intent to Use Drug Paraphernalia. Between February and March, 2013, Soloman and her co-defendant would obtain store credit by returning items they did not purchase. Her co-defendant would take items from the shelves of retail stores, and then Soloman would return them at customer service indicating they were previously purchased in exchange for store credit. On March 19, 2013, Soloman was found in possession of a spoon, syringe, and baggies, for the purpose of ingesting heroin.
