OneMain Financial will provide area residents and its customers an opportunity to participate in the American Red Cross’s annual Holiday Mail for Heroes program, a way for Americans to show their gratitude and best wishes to those who serve our country, veterans and their families by signing and sending holiday cards. From Nov.18-30, during its Customer Appreciation Days, the OneMain Financial branch at 273 Grandview Ave in Honesdale will provide and mail holiday cards for the community to send messages of thanks and holiday cheer to our nation’s heroes. OneMain Financial’s partnership with the American Red Cross reflects the philanthropic and community-oriented mindset truly engrained in OneMain Financial’s core values. Employees leverage their professional skills and experience by volunteering their time directly to community organizations. The holiday cards being offered by the Honesdale OneMain Financial branch offers the local community a chance to join tens of thousands of Americans across the US in providing a welcome “touch of home” to our troops, veterans and military families during the holiday season. Red Cross volunteers across the United States and on military installations overseas sort and deliver the cards throughout the holiday season. The Red Cross has received and distributed more than 6.5 million cards for members of the U.S. Armed Forces, veterans and their families since the program began in 2006. “Sharing a likeminded vision with the American Red Cross, OneMain Financial is committed to making the neighborhoods where we do business better places to live and work,” said Mary McDowell, President and CEO of OneMain Financial and CitiFinancial North America. “We have a strong tradition of national and local partnerships that underscore our commitment to the veteran and military community, and we are excited area residents will be joining us in this heartwarming effort during our Customer Appreciation Days.” OneMain Financial also invites the public to share photos and videos of their card signing efforts at a OneMain Financial branch or their holiday greeting for troops by using the hashtag #HolidayMail on their Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Vine accounts. The Red Cross and OneMain Financial will use the material on their social sites throughout the holiday season. The public also can connect with fellow card senders through facebook.com/onemainfinancial and Twitter.com/redcross. With the holidays fast approaching, local residents can take advantage of this opportunity in November to make a valuable contribution to their community. While in the branch, area residents can pick up a free gift while supplies last and enter OneMain Financial’s sweepstakes to win a $75 gift card. The local OneMain Financial branch is located at 273 Grandview Ave., Honesdale PA 18431, (570) 253-6797.
