Maude Alley in Honesdale has a new addition in Alley Whey Cheese Shoppe. Located at 1023 Main Street, the shop offers a large selection of Calkins Creamery cheeses. “The owner is also a cheesemaker at Calkins Creamery and a chef by trade,” said shop manager Shirley Ortiz. “It makes everything we offer here really special.” The intimate shop is a one-stop cheese destination that includes long-standing favorites like Cowtipper and Smoked Moo Mozz. “We also offer a variety of cheese boards and knives,” Ortiz said. Also on the menu at Alley Whey is a variety of fresh pesto and tapenades expertly paired with a variety of cheeses. “We also offer a variety of gift boxes and platters,” Ortiz said, with upcoming specials coming for the holiday season.
