A school bus driver training course and Act 126 training will be held on Nov. 4, 5 and 8 at the Lakeside Elementary School. Classes begin at 6 p.m.
Any school bus driver who has in their possession the “S” Endorsement invitation letter to re-certify may attend the Nov. 4 and 5 evening classes to receive the required seven hours of in-class training for their re-certification.
Any individual who is interested in obtaining their “S” Endorsement to drive a school bus may also attend the Nov. 4 and 5 evening classes to receive seven hours of the required 14 hours of in-class instruction.
The Nov. 8 evening class will include the Act 126 training required by current school bus drivers and new school bus drivers.
There is a $3.50 charge for the participant's guide for the Act 126 training. There is a $30 charge for anyone attending all three evening classes. If a current school bus driver or permit driver only requires the school bus driver training, they must attend Nov. 4 and 5. The charge for the two nights is $20.
Scheduling of the required in-bus time for re-certification drivers (three hours), as well as the required in-bus time for permit drivers (six hours), will be handled on an individual basis.
To register for these classes, or ask any questions regarding re-certification requirements or permit requirements, call Walter J. Garing between the hours of 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. weeknights at (570) 488-6529. Dress for weather conditions since part of the class will be outside.
Registration is mandatory.
