— On Saturday, Oct. 19, The Cooperage Project invites new (and not-so-new) parents to spend two very illuminating hours with Linda Bartels, experienced educator and therapist.
During this parenting workshop, Bartels will share with you her thoughts about the challenges of parenting and in the process identify specific strategies that will help and sustain you as you pursue this, the most rewarding and daunting job that you’ll ever have.
Bartels will address a range of topics including creative ways to encourage young ones and teens to eat more healthy, strategies to increase a teen’s self reliance, thoughtful approaches to discipline and other important issues and concerns.
Bartels has Bachelor Degrees in English and Theater, a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Northwestern University and certification in Cognitive Behavior Therapy from Marywood University.
She has years of teaching experience as a high school teacher, a Montessori elementary education assistant and a psychology instructor at several colleges. She has offered classes in Continuing Education to professionals and has been a guest speaker at state psychology conferences. For over 10 years, she has worked as a therapist counseling children, teens and families.
The workshop is from 10 a.m. to noon, at The Cooperage, 1030 Main Street, Honesdale.
Suggested donation is $20, however, no one will be turned away. Registration is required, please call 570-253-2020 to reserve your seat.
