Canadian short story writer Alice Munro was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature this morning. The 82-year-old is considered one of the greatest short story writers in history, often being compared to Anton Chekhov. Munro is the first Canadian-based writer to win the prestigious award, and is the 13th woman to win it.
Amazon.com announced a new service that takes the place of PayPal on certain websites. Amazon released a "Login and Pay with Amazon" button that lets people with Amazon accounts buy stuff using those accounts from participating websites. The service is designed to take on the popular PayPal, which is owned by eBay.
Gasbuddy.com reports that the average price of gas in the U.S. is $3.380. Last year at this time it was $3.804.
