  • Scarecrows to haunt in Honesdale

  • With the help of contest co-sponsors Connections Magazine, 95-3 DNH, Classic Hits 105, The Wayne Independent, The Moscow Villager and The Carbondale News, the Greater Honesdale Partnership will be hosting its 8th annual scarecrow contest in conjunction with Harvest & Heritage Days, which is scheduled for October 12-13 and sponsored by Wayne Bank.

    With the help of contest co-sponsors Connections Magazine, 95-3 DNH, Classic Hits 105, The Wayne Independent, The Moscow Villager and The Carbondale News, the Greater Honesdale Partnership will be hosting its 8th annual scarecrow contest in conjunction with Harvest & Heritage Days, which is scheduled for October 12-13 and sponsored by Wayne Bank.
    This year’s theme is “Superheroes” and each scarecrow will be either a well-known superhero or a superhero of the makers own imagination. As in the past, entries will be judged for creativity by a panel of four GHP members.

    Last year’s top winners were: Sunflower Hollow in third place, Olsommer-Clarke Insurance in second place and Freedom from Calls Answering Service, which took the first-place honors.
    Be sure to take a ride and get a look at all these wonderful Scarecrows. They will be on display until Oct. 15 and the winners will be announced in the Oct. 17 edition of The Wayne Independent and announced on 95-3 DNH and Classic Hits 105.3.
    The top 10 winners will also appear in the November edition of Connections Magazine.
