Pike County District Attorney Raymond Tonkin announced a Bushkill woman was sentenced up to 5 years in a State Correctional Facility for Sexual Contact with a Minor.
Christal Sheridan, age 32, of Bushkill plead guilty to numerous charges which arose out of her engaging in sexual contact with a minor. Sheridan plead guilty to Statutory Sexual Assault, Unlawful Contact or Communication with a Minor, and Corruption of Minors.
Sheridan admitted that she engaged in sexual contact with a 15-year-old boy from June 2009 through January 2010. Sheridan had asked him to babysit her children.
An investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police discovered that Sheridan purchased a cell phone for the victim and that she sent numerous lewd text messages to him.
Sheridan was sentenced to a State Correctional Facility for 2 ½ to 5 years, and ordered to pay a fine of $1,300 for having sexual contact with a minor.
Sheridan is now classified as a Tier 2 Sex Offender, and she will have to register under Pennsylvania’s Megan’s Law for 25 years. As special requirements of her sentencing Sheridan is ordered to have no unsupervised contact with any child, must refrain from working or frequenting where children congregate, and refrain from use or possession of a cell phone.
