The Wayne County Historical Society has announced author William Katz as its speaker for the “Sunday at the Museum” program on Aug. 25 at 2 p.m.
The presentation will take place in the multi purpose room at the Wayne County Historical Society 810 Main Street in Honesdale.
Katz is an American historian and author of 40 books on little known aspects of American history.
On Sunday, Katz will discuss his two most recent books: “The Lincoln Brigade” reveals the story of the 2800 Americans who sailed to Spain in 1936 to help defend its democratic government against an overthrow by Hitler, Mussolini and General Franco and try to stop World War II.
“Black Indians: A Hidden Heritage” introduces readers to the historical relationship in the Americas between people of Native American descent and African descent, and how their alliances shape the early decades of the New World.
Meet the author and hear about two little known but fascinating parts of American History.
The program is free and open to everyone. For more information call 253-3240 or check us out on the web at waynehistorypa.org.
