The Honesdale Borough police are asking for the public's assistance in seeking an alleged car thief.
According to Lt. Ron Kominski, officer in charge of the police, a warrant has been issued for Charles Francis Ryan, 30, of Newfoundland.
According to the report, on June 9, Ryan allegedly stole a silver Jeep Wranger which belonged to a female from Bucks Hill Falls.
The vehicle was parked and being sold in the Mesko Glass parking lot on Grandview Avenue in Honesdale. The Jeep was recovered Aug. 8 on private land in Gouldsboro. It was recovered by an officer with the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
Ryan has been charged with felony theft, receiving stolen property, abandonment of vehicles and driving while license suspended.

Borough police are investigating the theft of items from a vehicle.
According to the report, on Aug. 14, someone entered an unlocked vehicle on West Park Street and stole a wallet containing identification, credit cards and cash consisting of $2 bills.

In the lake
The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an alleged robbery and stolen vehicle incident in Pike County.
According to the report, four people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
On July 7 at around 11:40 p.m., police report that four people broke into a residence located on Kuhn Hill Road. According to police, they entered the house by severely damaging the doors.
Upon entering, police report multiple items were removed from the residence. It was also reported fuel cans and vehicle batteries were taken near this location.
Page 2 of 2 - Police said they then traveled to Creamery Road where they stole a pickup truck belonging to one of the victims. They then drove the vehicle to a tributary waterway to Lake Wallenpaupack and caused the vehicle to be submerged completely in the water.
The vehicle was later recovered by the Ledgedale Fire Department.
Arrested in the incident were Tyler Josh Willsch, 19, Newfoundland; Matthew Wayne Mitchell, 26, Greene Township in Pike County; Joseph Michael Giordano, 28, Greentown; and Christian Jord Paroline, 19, also of Green Township.
State police said they are continuing to investigate the incident. Anyone with information should contact the Blooming Grove Barracks at 570-226-5718.
