Everyone is invited to join Park Rangers on Saturday, Aug. 17 as they paddle down the river plucking litter from the shoreline as well as from the river bottom. This is great fun for the whole family as well as for groups of friends.
Paddlers are asked to meet at the Milanville Ranger Station in Milanville, at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17. The National Park Service will provide the vehicle shuttle, canoes, lifejackets and paddles. It will be held rain or shine.
You should expect to get wet, so be prepared with the appropriate gear including extra clothing, proper footwear, lunch, plenty of water, a hat and sun screen.
This year's river clean-up is limited to the first 20 who register so call your family – call your friends and come join the fun and help keep your river wild and scenic.
For more information or to sign up for the Summer Paddle and River Clean-Up, call Park Ranger Brandon Diefenbach at 570-685-4871 by Friday, Aug. 16.
