Band to perform classic rock

 - On the list of bands set to perform at Waystock on July 26 and 27 is Friend of the Gypsy.

They will be performing at noon on July 26.

The classic rock band "Friend of the Gypsy" has been around for years playing oldies from the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Guess Who, Van Morrison, Greatful Dead, and The Who.

Friend of the Gypsy is made up of Jack Gilroy, drums and spiritual advise; "Downtown Gypsy" Ron Kordish, guitars, harmonica, vocals; Dave "Bruno" Marchegiani, bass, vocals; and Michael "Tange" Santangelo- Guitars, vocals

The band prides itself in bringing to life again those great songs that always make us tap our toes and clap our hands in delight.

Collectively they have almost a hundred years of rock and roll experience, the band has played together for almost 20 years under various names including The Nest, The All Star Band, The Gypsies, Bruno's Sorry Ass, The Hit Men, Rare Form and The Deadbeats. They are not resolved to remain "Friend of the Gypsy."

The band plays music from the sixties and seventies, like Grateful Dead, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Who, The Byrds, Badfinger, Guess Who, Sam the Sham and the Pharohs, Neil Young,Van Morrison, Rolling Stones, Stephen Stills, JJ Cale, Allman Bros., Stevie Ray Vaughn, Fleetwood Mac, Johnny Cash and more.

They play clubs in Northeast Pennsylvania that include, The Bombay, Tomainos, Wildcat Lounge, Jessup Sidebar, Harrington, and Legends. They also play at picnics and private parties.
