— Haunting vocals, harmonium, banjo, ukulele, floorboard bass, thumb pianos and multiple guitars grace the Harmony Presents stage in the long awaited form of Barnaby Bright.
The show is Saturday, July 20 at 7:30 p.m.
Barnaby Bright is a folk-rock duo that averages 200 shows and 40,000 miles a year. Grand prize-winners of the New York Song Circle competition, Barnaby Bright’s songs have been featured on national television shows such as ER and Days of our Lives and on stage with Norah Jones and the Lumineers.
The duo’s EP Gravity was named one of the top 100 records of the year by Amazon.com, and has hailed comparisons to the Indigo Girls, The Civil Wars and The Weepies.
Steve Morse, longtime critic at the Boston Globe, Billboard Magazine and Rolling Stone, says, "Honestly, I haven't felt this good at a folk-rock gig since seeing the Indigo Girls in their prime. Barnaby Bright has a graceful, uplifting energy reminiscent of the Indigos, but also have a virtuosity that is extremely unique. Becky can be festive but also sings with a mesmerizing stateliness that evokes Mary Fahl of the October Project at times, while Nate's vocals and guitar playing are gifted and creative throughout. They have a special chemistry that helps erase cynicism while giving hope that the best is yet to come."
Tickets may be purchased at www.silkmillharmony.com for $16 in advance online or at the door for $20. Show starts at 7:30 and doors open at 7:15. Call 570-588-8077 for questions or help purchasing tickets online.
The concert will be in the newly renovated Boiler Room in the Hawley Silk Mill at 8 Silk Mill Drive, Hawley.
