As much as video games have gotten a bad rap, they have their good points just like everything else. Now, we're not talking about the old-school consoles with the controller where you sit and just move your thumbs. We are talking about the new wave of video games that you stand and move and shake! Yes the new game systems where you are the controller. They track your movements and make sure you are performing them correctly. They have sports games where you actually play the game in your living room. These video games are great ways to stay in shape.





      1. They are easy to use, and need minimal set-up. Just plug them in and you're ready to go! The console itself will prompt you and you'll be able to play in no time.





      2. They don't take up much space. A game console fits nicely on most entertainment stands along with your television. Or it can be stored under a bed, in a closet, or really in any small area.





      3. They have a wide variety of games. You can go dancing, golfing, running, bowling, and boxing. You can also get a game that trains you personally with specific exercises.





      4. The whole family can exercise and have fun. This is a great way to connect with the kids. Kids love playing games, especially with their parents. To get them some exercise, challenge them with a round of their favorite sport.





      5. You can workout even if the weather is bad without leaving home. No matter rain nor snow nor sleet nor hail, you don't have an excuse not to exercise. You can just plug in your favorite game and exercise to your heart's content.





This proves how far video games have come! Its great to see that they are using their power for good by helping people move more. Now, we aren't saying to use games as a way of exercising ALL the time, but they are definitely a handy tool to have around. Be sure you mix it up with different games, going outside, and hitting the gym. Munch on some healthy food and you've got the remedy for a great lifestyle!!
