    News to know

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said today that she is resigning to - hopefully - become president of the University of California system. Napolitano will leave her post in September and will learn next week if her nomination to be schools president will be accepted.

Carter was released from prison after an anonymous donor posted his $500,000 bond. Carter said he was getting abused while in prison and that his comments were sarcastic, not a threat.
