On Monday, July 15, the Wayne County Creative Arts Council again welcomes Flashback, a quartet of musicians, each with 30 plus years of musical experience under their belts.
Bob Lyons is the lead singer and guitarist, Mike Smith does vocals and plays rhythm guitar, Alan Rosenblum plays bass and sings background while Paul Furner rounds out the group on drums.
Prepare yourself to return in time to the days of classic CCR and the Monkees all while sitting in Honesdale’s Central Park under the stars. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. with refreshments available at 7.
On July 18, WCCAC presents the Old Time Fiddlers at 7:30 p.m. on stage in Central Park.
An all-time favorite, they have performed for WCCAC’s park festivals for 32-plus years.
Their director, Steve Jacobi, spotlights the players as they play traditional Appalachian ballads and other airs. Bring a chair or blanket and enjoy their renditions with acoustic guitar, banjo, piano, mandolin, bass accordion and the fiddle.
The mic and a piano are the only electronics — a step back to simpler times.Their fiddle styles include Irish, Scottish, bluegrass, Texas swing and old time music. They are determined to promote and preserve traditional music through performance and education. Be sure to come early for a good spot on the lawn, as they always draw a huge crowd.
The rain location is the Parish House across the street. Concerts are free, however, a good will offering will be collected.
