    PA Urban & Community Forestry webinar: Pruning Young Trees to Improve Structure and Form, 12-1 p.m. Participants will learn about the biological effects of various pruning cuts, when the best time to prune for form, how to recreate a central leader, how to remove or subordinate a co-dominant branch, and how often young trees should receive training pruning.     Yes I CAN . . .Food Preservation Workshop, 1-3 p.m. OR 7-9 p.m., Monroe County Extension Office, 724 Phillips St., Suite 201, Stroudsburg, PA 18360. Many people today are interested in growing and/or buying local foods and want to preserve them for use throughout the year.
    Page 2 of 6 - "Yes I Can" is an introductory workshop providing today's recommendations on how to safely can seasonal garden produce and specialty items. It includes costs, equipment, how to use a pressure canner and boiling water bath canner, types of pack, safe methods and procedures, storage, and resources.
    Dial gauge canners can be tested for accuracy for those who bring the lid. This workshop is designed for beginning canners who want to learn how to use a pressure canner with up-to-date procedures. Fee: $20 per person or $30 for two adults from the same household (one packet of information).

    Pennsylvania regulations require all farms generating or applying manure to have a Certified Nutrient Management Plan or a Manure Management Plan.
