  • The Equinunk Historical Society concluded its 14th Annual Car Show on Saturday, June 22, with 172 registered cars, topping the previous record of 151. The Historical Society thanks everyone who participated and made this our best year ever.
Taking the people's choice award was Josh Galloway of Lookout, PA, with his custom Street Rod. Josh basically built this from the ground up. He deserved the award.
Of two Special Recognition Awards, one went to Nina Lassley of Honesdale, PA, for her 1974 VW Beetle. This one was restored to better-than-new condition. The second award went to Mike Mill of Honesdale, PA, for his 1965 Thunderbird, another pristine vehicle. There were so many high quality vehicles, a hundred awards could have been given.
The society would like to thank Mel Freilich and Caren Raphael for hosting the event on their property; Jim Balakian for providing visitor parking on his property; and all of the local merchants and patrons who donated to the event.
Thanks to our Sponsors: Country Roads Market; Cox's Lookout General Store; Dirlam Brothers Lumber Co. Inc., Honesdale; The Equinunk Emporium; Tom Galloway Body Shop, Equinunk; Gilson Automotive, Honesdale; LaBar Computer Services, Waymart; Menotti Tire, Honesdale; Schwabs Engine Machine Shop, Honesdale; Town & Country Energy, Equinunk; Wally Young Carpentry & General Contracting, Equinunk; Wayne County Ready Mix Co.
