— The Honesdale Tractor Supply Store will hold its grand opening on Saturday, June 22, with specially priced merchandise June 21–23.
The store officially opened for business June 8.
The Honesdale location is Tractor Supply Company’s 66th store in the state of Pennsylvania and employs 13 team members. The facility has 19,097 square feet, including sales floor and support service space.
Tractor Supply Company is the largest retail farm and ranch supply store chain in the United States and has been operating in Pennsylvania since 1965.
“Honesdale is a great location for Tractor Supply because this is a small town and many members of the community are farmers,” said Store Manager Katie Wilson. “Area residents are so excited to have this store. You would think they were putting in an amusement park. Customers were knocking on the doors wondering if we were open. Our knowledgeable, friendly team is here to help our neighbors find what they need.”
Wilson joined Tractor Supply in 2010 as a team member at the Pocono Summit location. In less than 90 days, she became an assistant manager. Prior to joining Tractor Supply, Wilson was a waitress at a country club. In her spare time, she enjoys going to festivals and outdoor concerts.
The small town feel is one of the main reasons Wilson decided to call Honesdale home.
As store manager, Wilson oversees all store operations, including receiving, inventory control and merchandising, as well as customer and team member relations.
To celebrate the grand opening of the store, shoppers will receive 10 percent off their first purchase, up to $100, from June 20-23, and can enter to win prizes including store gift cards, pet feed, clothing, power tools, a lawn tractor and a chain saw. Free Tractor Supply Company caps will also be given away while supplies last.
The grand opening event this weekend will feature a cookout provided a local 4-H club, a pet adoption sponsored by the Dessin Animal Shelter and a horse trainer. A ribbon cutting ceremony with the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce will be held Saturday at 7:45 a.m.
Regular operating hours for the store, located at 240 Willow Ave., are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
