The festival has added a special new element to highlight the arts in the festival’s name. In what will surely become an annual feature, this year 26 of our area’s most talented artists have taken our blank gig posters and run with them … to amazing and fantastic places.
The “Gig Posters” will debut at The Hanson Gallery & Decorium located at 1037 Main St. Honesdale beginning on June 8, with an artist’s reception and live music from 6-8 p.m. The posters will remain on display there through June 14.
The posters will then journey to the festival located in Central Park on June 15 to Artist’s Row (9th Street) with a “Pick-a-Poster” style raffle, giving everyone an opportunity to own one of these unique pieces of original artwork. T
he raffle will run from 1:30 to 7 p.m. and winners will be announced periodically from the Main Stage. Additionally, local artist Jeff George’s poster has been transformed into limited edition poster prints signed and numbered.
So come on out and support the area’s largest, free, all-day music and arts event on Saturday, June 15, beginning with bands and the 6th annual Airing of the Quilts in the downtown area from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with the main event in Central Park beginning at 1:30 p.m.
All proceeds from the “Gig Poster” fundraiser will help benefit the 9th annual Honesdale Roots & Rhythm Music & Arts Festival for next year.
