MILFORD - The Upper Delaware Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Center (UDGLBT) is opening their doors and arms to the community at an open house on Saturday, June 8.
It will be from 1 to 6 p.m. at its center located in the lower level of the Old School House at 201 W. Harford Street, Milford.
The UDGLBT invites you to join them for this event to meet and greet members of the board and the UDGLBT community. In conjunction with the Milford Music Fest, "In Spite of Ourselves" will be performing a diverse mix of their vocal and guitar repertoire between 1and 3 p.m.
Light refreshments will be served and information on GLBT issues, opportunities to get involved and information on exciting upcoming events will also be available.
The Upper Delaware GLBT Center is a 501c3 nonprofit agency whose mission is to welcome, support and empower the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender community living in and visiting the Upper Delaware region; to promote acceptance of GLBT individuals through education; and to be an advocate for social change that embraces diversity and eliminates oppression based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
In a quest to fulfill their mission, the UDGLBT hosts many events ranging from social gatherings for the GLBT community and their allies to educational events for the community at large. It also includes special programming for youth included an Alternative Prom which was recently held at the Best Western Hotel in Matamoras.
The UDGLBT will be offering many more activities in the coming months.
