— The PA Department of Labor and Industry has installed a direct phone line to its Unemployment Compensation Call Centers for use by all individuals to open an unemployment compensation claim or to ask questions about existing claims.
This phone is available at the Wayne County Employment and Training Center, 314 10th Street, Honesdale. Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
To use, an individual only needs to lift the receiver, listen to the instructions, and enter his/her social security number on the telephone key pad.
Next, an unemployment compensation interviewer will identify him/herself and ask how to help you. Prior to having this accessibility at the center, unemployed persons would encounter busy signals as they try to reach the UC Center using the 800 number and their own phones.
The availability of this feature to our Employment and Training Center greatly enhances our resources for job seekers as they work to re-enter the workforce.
