On Sunday, April 14, the Wayne County Arts Alliance’s Sunday Night Cinema presents the 1982 musical “One From the Heart,” directed by Francis Ford Coppola.
Starring Teri Garr and Frederic Forest as star-crossed lovers and shot almost entirely on a sound stage, the movie’s cost overruns bankrupted Coppola’s production company. But it’s one of the director’s most visually beautiful movies and features a marvelous soundtrack by Crystal Gayle and Tom Waits. It’s 107 minutes long and rated R.
One From the Heart” is the first offering in Sunday Night Cinema’s Spring Series, which is entitled “Movies Not Coming to a Theater Near You” and features odd and overlooked movies that never got the reception they deserved.
Showings are at 7:30 p.m. at Cinema 6 in the Route 6 Mall in Honesdale.
A donation of $5 per person is suggested to help support the activities of the Arts Alliance. The film will be preceded by a short introduction and followed by a discussion. For more information, visit waynecountyartsalliance.org or contact the Arts Alliance at 390-4420.
