Junior Jumpstart program coming
— The Guidance Department at Honesdale High School has announced their first annual Junior Jumpstart Program on Wednesday April 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium.
The parents of juniors are invited to attend and learn about the college application process, career research, dual enrollment, scholarships and financial aid.
There will be representatives from local area technical, two year and for year post-secondary institutions that will be discussing the types of criteria they look for in a student application in regards to GPA, SAT/ACT scores, extracurricular activities and volunteerism.
Plus, the local Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) representative will be discussing student aid and how to apply.
The process of what to do after high school graduation can be both overwhelming and exciting at the same time and this is why officials urge you to attend the event that will prove to be helpful to parents and students.
