On Tuesday morning Alejandro Enrique Vela-Garrett, 18 of Florida, was arraigned for additional charges after he was arrested last week in Newfoundland.

Vela-Garrett was arrested at his residence next to the Valero gas station along with Brandon A. Forman, 18 of Florida. Vela-Garrett was wanted in Palm Beach County, on felony grand theft auto and fleeing or eluding police and Forman was arrested on felony conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance charge.
A joint investigation was undertaken by the Pennsylvania State Police Vice Unit and the Wayne County District Attorney's Drug Task Force to apprehend them.
After searching Vela-Garrett's home police found an AR 15 series semi-automatic rifle, an SKS series assault rifle, a Taurus 9 mm handgun, marijuana, vicodin, a grinder, digital scales, boxes of ammunition and drug paraphernalia. A photo of Vela-Garrett with drugs was found on a social media site.
Vela-Garrett was charged with arrest prior to requisition and Forman was charged with criminal conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance, a felony last week. Bail was set for Vela-Garrett at $500,000 and for Forman at $50,000.
The two are currently in custody at the Wayne County Correctional Facility.
Information had been received that Vela-Garrett was dealing drugs in the Newfoundland area and that he was in possession of various weapons.
According to the Affidavit of Probable Cause filed against Forman, earlier Tuesday evening both Vela-Garrett and Forman were involved in a controlled purchase of drugs in Newfoundland which led officers to the Vela-Garrett home.
On Tuesday Vela-Garrett was charged with two counts of felony delivery of Percocet, one count misdemeanor possession of Percocet, one count misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, one count felony – felon not to possess a weapon, and one count felony conspiracy to deliver.
