Dress for Success® Lackawanna to show the community the power of their inspiration in annual luncheon and fashion show.

A new beginning. A change of course. The pursuit of self-sufficiency. The stories are many, the paths unique, but one common factor unites the clients that enter the doors of Dress for Success® Lackawanna – inspiration.

"It takes a lot of courage for someone to admit they need help, to come forward and seek guidance," said Dress for Success® Lackawanna Executive Director Mary Ann Iezzi, "but we are so grateful for those individuals and experiences that inspired these women to create a fresh start. The power of those who inspire is something we will never underestimate."

The Scranton-based affiliate of the worldwide non-profit promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and life.

On Wednesday, March 20 at 11:45 a.m., Dress for Success® Lackawanna will host its 14th Annual Luncheon and Fashion Show. This year's show "Inspire" will be held at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel in Scranton.

Presented by Pennstar Bank, this year's presentation aims to show gratitude to those who have inspired all women to grow personally and professionally.

The luncheon will also elaborate on how the community's support has inspired Dress for Success Lackawanna to grow its provisions and services.

The luncheon will feature keynote speaker Lori Wolf, a Dress for Success Lackawanna client who will be addressing the many factors that have turned challenges into opportunities and the inspiration that paved the path to her current success.

The luncheon's signature fashion show will accessorize confidence as it parades down the runway demonstrating beauty inside and out.

Local personalities will wear work and play fashions from local clothing retailers such as Pierre's, Suburban Casuals, White House Black Market and Hansel and Gretel.

Several of this year's models will be accompanied on the runway by their daughters in demonstration of their inspiring relationships.

Attendees and community members will also have the opportunity to personally thank those who have inspired them through published messages.

Contributions through this year's luncheon will support the organization's operations.

Funds will also support the Professional Women's Group, a national Dress for Success® program made available locally to help the organization's clients who have made the transition into the workforce.

The program offers members an atmosphere in which they can share, grow and network by developing their skills to help them prosper in the mainstream workplace.

The event will be emceed by local personality Laurie Cadden and have musical entertainment provided by EJ the DJ.

Long-standing sponsors of this year's event include hair and make-up by Alexander's Salon and Spa, media sponsor WNEP-TV and photography sponsor Michael Straub Photography.
