  • - The date for the 18th annual Country Jamboree has been set for Sunday, May 19.
The festivities start at noon and will be held at Indian Head Camp, located 20 miles north of Honesdale and 15 miles south of Hancock.
Admission to the festivities is $5 with children under 12 admitted free. All proceeds earned will benefit Pediatric Services at Geisinger Medical Center through the Children's Miracle Network in Danville.
Mary and Alan Hazen are the organizers of the event and are excited to embark on their 18th fundraiser.
Hazen said they will have "two live bands" and "lots of delicious food." Some of the food being served will be homemade German potato pancakes, hotdogs and hamburgers. Beverages will also be available.
You should get your dancing boots on because the jamboree will have square and line dancing available. Even if you are a beginner, there is a spot for you on the dance floor.
If you aren't the dancing type, there will also be a Chinese auction, a penny social and face painting.
There are also three items up for grabs in the raffle.
First prize is a size twin quilt, donated by A Stitch in Time in Honesdale. It features vibrant colors surrounded by black.
Second prize is a Hitachi 21.1 cc commercial grass trimmer, donated by Dirlam Bros. Lumber Co. in Honesdale.
The third prize entry was stitched by Hazen herself of Equinunk. It is a washable wool baby size quilt. The quilt features bow tie style blocks that little ones love to play with. This quilt is double sided and could be used as a wall hanger as well.
The chances for these items can be bought from Hazen or by visiting the Lookout General Store in Lookout. Cost of the chances for the three items is $1 for one, or $5 for six.
