The Rotary Club of Newfoundland is now planning the 6th annual charity auction and flea market. But first, we would like to thank all of those who donated to and purchased from last year's event.
Thanks to your support, our weekend sales were over $11,000.00! It was a huge success.
This year the auction will be held Saturday Aug. 3 and the flea market will be open Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 3 and 4. It will be held at the GDS Fairgrounds in Newfoundland.
Free space is available to local non-profit organizations and space is available for individuals to sell their own things.
We are now accepting donations of good, saleable items for our auction and flea market. Household furniture and home décor items, hand tools and power equipment, collectible and antiques, toys and sports equipment, hunting and fishing gear are some examples of what we will accept.
We will also pickup your donations. Please call Roger Altemier at (570) 676-3384 with any questions about the auction or flea market.
If you have things that you no longer use but they are still in good shape, call us. Last year we were fortunate to receive items from 2 estates and we also cleaned out a house.
The success of this auction and flea market has made it one of our best fundraising events. Funds raised are used to support many activities of the Newfoundland Rotary Club.
These include our scholarship program; support for our local youth sports groups, helping with the upkeep of the Carlton Drake Park, the Rotary Youth Exchange Program, support for local food pantries, the Greene Dreher Volunteer Fire Association, Newfoundland Area Ambulance Association, the Greene Dreher Historical Society, literary programs and supporting Rotary International programs such as the effort to eradicate polio worldwide.
Donations to our auction and flea market and participation from buyers at our auction and flea market allow us to support these worthwhile community services.
