    Basketball fans in Wayne County are anticipating a huge week coming up with two area high school teams qualified for the state tournament.

    Basketball fans in Wayne County are anticipating a huge week coming up with two area high school teams qualified for the state tournament.
    The Honesdale Lady Hornets, a team some are calling the Cinderella story of the year, took home gold this past weekend with a big win over Scranton Prep in Carbondale.
    The Lady Hornets captured the district title and now advance on to the state tourney for the second year in a row.
    Honesdale will play Danville at 7 p.m. Saturday at Marywood College in Dunmore. It's the same site where they played in the tournament last year.
    For Wallenpaupack, the Lady Bucks advanced to the state tournament with a big win over Wyoming Valley West at Lackawanna College in an overtime thriller.
    The Lady Bucks travel to Scranton High School this Friday for a 7:30 p.m. showdown with Parkland High School.
    This is their first ever District 2 Class 4A girls basketball championship.
    It is expected fans of both teams will be traveling in droves down the Casey Highway to watch their teams in action later this week.
