  • HONESDALE — The following cases were addressed this week by the Raymond L. Hamill, President Judge, Wayne County.
    HONESDALE, PA -
    TODD D. BURKHARDT, age 46 of Hawley, PA was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 6 months nor more than 5 years for one count of DUI: Cont Substance/Combined Alcohol-1st Offense, an ungraded Misdemeanor. He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, pay a fine in the amount of $1,500.00, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, attend and complete an alcohol highway safety
    program, perform 100 hours of community service and obtain full time employment upon being released from prison. The incident occurred on December 16, 2011, in Hawley Borough when Hawley Borough Police observed Burkhardt traveling at a high rate of speed. At that time Burkhardt was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana. This DUI conviction was Burkhardt's second within 10 years and his fifth conviction in
    his lifetime.
    MARVIN FLINT, age 21 of Carbondale, PA was sentenced to the Wayne County
    Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 6 months nor more than 24 months for one count of Burglary, graded as a Felony of the 1st Degree and one count of Theft By Unlawful Taking or Disposition, graded as a Felony of the 3rd Degree. He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, pay a fine in the amount of $250.00, submit to the
    drawing of a DNA sample and pay $250.00 for the cost of the sample, obtain full time employment upon being released from prison and pay restitution in the amount of $1,186.34. The incident occurred on September 13, 2012, in Salem Township when Flint and a co-defendant entered a residence and stole a vehicle.
    ERIC N. PETERSON, age 19 of Stockertown, PA was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 1 month nor more than 23 1/2 months
    for one count of Theft By Unlawful Taking or Disposition, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 2nd Degree. He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, pay a fine in the amount of $500.00, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, perform 50 hours of community service and obtain full time employment
    upon being released from prison. The incident occurred on August 13, 2012, in Hawley Borough when Petersen stole prescription medications from another.
    MATTHEW GERARD PIRANEO, age 24 of Greeley, PA was sentenced to the Wayne County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 1 month nor more than 12 months for one count of Theft By Unlawful Taking or Disposition, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 2nd Degree. He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, pay a fine
    Page 2 of 3 - in the amount of $300.00, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment, obtain part time employment upon being released from
    prison and continue with mental health treatment. The incident occurred on February 22, 2012, in Scott Township when Piraneo stole $200.00 from another.
    WILLIAM L. SWENDSEN, age 27 of Milanville, PA was sentenced to the Wayne
    County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 1 month nor more than 23 1/2
    months for one count of Criminal Trespass-Enter Structure, graded as a Felony of the 3rd Degree. He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, pay restitution in the amount of $52,515.43, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all
    recommendations for treatment, obtain full time employment and perform 100 hours of
    community service. The incident occurred between July 22, 2012, and July 23, 2012, in
    Honesdale Borough when Swendsen broke into a private garage and stole several items.
    ANTHONY TOMASELLO, age 20 of Tyler Hill, PA was placed on probation for a period of 12 months for one count of Defiant Trespass, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 3rd Degree and one count of Criminal Mischief-Defacing/Damaging Premises, graded as a
    Summary offense. He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, pay restitution in the
    amount of $405.00, have no contact with the co-defendants in this matter, undergo a
    drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations for treatment and obtain part time employment. The incident occurred on July 1, 2012, in Berlin Township when Tomasello and two co-defendants entered a local business at a time when they did not have permission to do so.
    DANIELLE N. VANSTONE, age 24 of Honesdale, PA was sentenced to the Wayne
    County Correctional Facility for a period of not less than 2 months nor more than 12
    months for one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, an ungraded Misdemeanor. She was also ordered to pay all Court costs, pay a fine in the amount of $500.00, undergo a drug and alcohol evaluation and comply with all recommendations for
    treatment, and obtain full time employment upon being released from prison. The
    incident occurred on August 10, 2012, in Honesdale Borough when VanStone was
    discovered to be in possession of Percocet for which she did not possess a valid prescription.
    MICKEY ALLEN ZINTEL, age 18 of Beach Lake, PA was sentenced to a fine in the amount of $300.00 for one count of Theft By Unlawful Taking or Disposition, graded as
    a Misdemeanor of the 1st Degree and one count of Criminal Mischief-Damage Property, graded as a Summary offense. He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, and pay
    Page 3 of 3 - restitution in the amount of $405.00 and perform 75 hours of community service. The incident occurred on July 1, 2012, in Berlin Township when Zintel and two co-
    defendants entered a private business at a time when they did not have permission to do so.
    HALLEY C. MINDLER, age 19 of Catawissa, PA was placed on the Accelerated
    Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of 6 months related to Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. She was also ordered to pay all Court costs, and perform 40 hours of community service, have her operator's license suspended for a period of 30 days and attend and attend and complete an alcohol highway safety program. The
    incident occurred on September 21, 2012, in Waymart Borough when Waymart
    Borough Police observed Mindler traveling with a broken brake light. At that time Mindler was in possession of three pipes.
    PETER F. SEEUWEN, age 25 of Hawley, PA was placed on the Accelerated
    Rehabilitative Disposition Program for a period of 6 months related to DUI. He was also ordered to pay all Court costs, attend and complete an alcohol highway safety program, perform 40 hours of community service and have his operator's license suspended for a period of 30 days. The incident occurred on August 18, 2012, in Palmyra Township
    when Hawley Borough Police observed Seeuwen fail to stop at red signal. His BAC
    was .114%.
    ERIC S. JUSKEY, age 24 of Honesdale, PA pled guilty to one count of Theft By
    Unlawful Taking or Disposition, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 1st Degree. The incident occurred on August 26, 2012, in Honesdale Borough when Juskey stole a
    wallet from the counter of a local business. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 9,
    2013.
    HECTOR RIVERA, age 37 of Newfoundland, PA pled guilty to one count of Receiving
    Stolen Property, graded as a Misdemeanor of the 3rd Degree. The incident occurred between November 21, 2012, and November 22, 2012, in Dreher Township when Rivera stole items from a local store. He is scheduled to be sentenced on May 9, 2013.
