For the past two weeks my belt has required me to go the extra mile, okay I tend to exaggerate, the extra inch and use the third hole. SWEET!
That being said I was even more excited on Friday when I put on a pair of black pants that I have not worn in over a year. They were a little snug. Not to the point of discomfort. What happened next was truly fantastic. My belt was loose on the third hole (because the pants were tight) and I was able to wear it on the forth hole. This inch-stone felt great. (Notice I didn't use the word milestone.)
The weeks of counting calories, walking and other exercise are having a positive effect. At my weigh in Saturday at the YMCA I was down two pounds. More importantly to me however is that I finally locked in that evasive 20 pounds lost number I have been looking for. I am still 44 pounds from achieving my goal of 210 pounds by August.
Warmer weather will find us outdoors more and I am looking forward to riding my bike. I have a nice five mile loop where I live that takes me around Lake Huntington. Coupled with the hills it should be a nice ride. To be honest, the walking is playing hell on my shins. However, as long as I maintain the current course I am on, I should have many more years to wake up and complain about my shins. Now all I have to worry about is hemorrhoids from my bicycle seat.
On a side note, I must give credit to Michelle Hessling. When I asked her to sign up for Weight No More she said she did not have time. Michelle is down nearly 20 pounds. Congrats to her and everyone else thus far!
This is not an easy road and naturally thin people who have never experienced weight issues might easily make remarks and hide behind anonymity. Myself, Michelle and almost 200 other people put our names and our progress in this paper every week. Michelle and I write from our hearts about our journey and I for one like to tie in humor to my stories. (Haaa! I kill me! Happy now Greg Little?) I am proud of what I am achieving. If you have a problem with my stories, give me a call and voice your concerns as a real person not afraid to use your real name. If you can't do that, simply turn the page.
Next week, Wrestling with a weight bench... and losing.
