"You must choose, but choose wisely, for while the true Grail will bring you life, the false Grail will take it from you"….Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
It began last Saturday.
We made our usual weekend trek to see Mom at Ellen Memorial, do grocery shopping at Super Duper, exchange a Christmas present that I'd gotten Jim at Art's for Him and run errands. These trips usually begin with breakfast "out" or end with lunch "out". It's our thing.
Saturday's was pizza at Two Guys. By banking my points, I saved up for two slices of pepperoni & mushroom as a treat. It hit the spot and fed the craving. Mission accomplished.
Sunday, my brother, nephew and great nephew surprised me by coming from NY to visit Mom and treat me to lunch at The China Castle. I pawned off my wonton soup and egg roll to my nephews and opted for chicken & broccoli instead of my usual L26. I also resisted the noodles and duck sauce and left that to the boys.
Tuesday I ventured to Liberty, NY to meet with Helen who is our GM at The Catskill Shopper. We grabbed lunch at the diner and I was super pleased to find a grilled chicken & cottage cheese plate that helped me stay well within my points range.
Wednesday was our annual Chamber meeting at The Settler's Inn. I picked at my salad (I'll explain my salad phobia another time), drank plenty of water and had a delicious, although breaded, stuffed chicken breast with veggies.
Exercise was top of mind this week. I continued my 20-minute workout every other evening. I've noticed that the 2.5 lbs weights are becoming less challenging and believe I'll have to increase soon.
Given all my efforts and in spite of the fact that my home scale is telling me that I lost 3 lbs this week the Y scale tells me that I gained 4 ounces (which I do not believe). Ughhhh! It was a huge defeat but I am taking it in stride. On the bright side I'm still down 7 pounds total and intend to continue to "choose wisely" for the next 7 days in preparation for my rematch with that dang scale.
