  • Sometime between 5:30 p.m. Dec. 27 and 8:15 a.m. Dec. 28, unknown actors stole machinery from Marshall Machinery, Bethel School Road, Berlin Township.
    According to a police report, the following items were stolen: A 2010 Kubota RTV900R9L (utility vehicle), a 2011 Kubota RTV900XTRL (utility vehicle), a 2012 Kubota RTV400CIR (utility vehicle), a 2011 Kubota ZG332LP (zero-turn lawnmower), a 2012 Kubota ZG222A (zero-turn lawnmower), and a Kubota BX25DLB-R (tractor/loader/backhoe).
    The vehicles/equipment were loaded onto a truck and trailer prior to actors departing the scene.
    The investigation is continuing. Anyone with any information is requested to contact PSP Honesdale at 253-7126.
     
    Crashes
    On Dec. 27 at 2:40 p.m. the driver of a 2004 BMW 325XI was traveling on the SR 8009/on-ramp 188 SR 81 northbound ramp, when it slid off the roadway and struck the guide rail.
    A police report says that there was damage to the driver's side of the vehicle and no damage was noticed on the guide rail.
    On Dec. 28 at 8:12 a.m. the driver of a 2000 Mercury Mystique was traveling southbound on I-81 in the area of Moosic Boro when they lost control trying to move into the right lane.
    A police report says the driver overcorrected and traveled back across the left lane and struck the concrete bridge rail along the left berm. The vehicle then traveled back across I-81 southbound and struck the guide rails along the right berm, where it came to rest.
    On Dec. 28 at 3:30 p.m. a three vehicle crash occurred on I-81 southbound at mile marker 182.2 in Scranton.
    The driver of a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee failed to stop in time for slow moving traffic and rear ended a 2011 Lexus RX350, which then struck a 2009 Toyota Camry.
    According to the police report the driver of the Jeep will be cited. All occupants stated they were wearing seat belts and the driver of the Lexus had a minor left hand injury.
    The Jeep and Toyota were towed from the scene. Scranton Fire Rescue 1 and Lackawanna Ambulance assisted at the scene.
    On Dec. 30 at 1:25 p.m. a one vehicle roll over crash occurred on I-81 northbound in Moosic Boro.
    The driver of a 2005 Jeep Wrangler was negotiating a right curve when sudden strong winds blew snow across the interstate, causing the driver to lose control.
    The police report says the vehicle traveled off the interstate and up a snow covered embankment, then rolled over onto its side. The driver was transported to CMC Hospital by Lackawanna Ambulance for neck and back injury.
