One little girl in Honesdale does not have to sleep on the floor anymore.

Santa came dressed in Blue when Aaron's in Honesdale donated and delivered of a brown hand-painted bunk bed set Tuesday morning to the Dohery family in Honesdale.

The toddler pined for both her mother and grandmother to sit with her in in her new bed. While her surprised grandmother's eyes bulged, Ashley Doherty – the girl's mother – smiled serenely.

"My daughter loves them," Ashley said.

Aaron's found the Dohertys after consulting with the Wayne County Office of Early Intervention. Aaron's also donated and delivered a couch to a family in White Mills.

"We've been doing great since we opened two years ago, and we really wanted to start giving back to the community," said Keith Knapp, General Manager of Aaron's Sales and Lease in Honesdale. "I spent hours hand-painting this myself. We all thought it is was so important and meaningful."

Three Aaron's associates joined Knapp in delivering the furniture during pre-store hours: Corey Kimble, Phil Perkert and Devin Jones.

As Knapp said, "It's always better to give than receive, and we certainly felt that way today."
